In an almost malicious piece of irresponsible reporting Newsweek released an article recently about blasphemous treatment of the Koran by US soldiers in Guantanamo Bay. The article gave, apparently eyewitness accounts, of Holy Korans being taken into the toilets and even of one being stuffed down a toilet. In a strongly Islamic state like Afghanistan this is red rag to a bull. There has been widespread rioting - some of it fairly close to where Chris and Esther live. They have not been able to go out much lately.
