Kidney Stone Angel

Maryann Sarkar is an old friend from Bangladesh days. She is a doctor, outspoken and yet caring, who has ended up in the Mennonite area where Elsie grew up. I remember so well the night that Elsie went down with the agonising pain of a kidney stone. There was not a lot that we could but pray and make her drink a huge amount of water in the hope that it would pass. Maryann spen the whole night with Elsie praying with her and encouraging her through the pain.

In the small hours of the morning the stone passed. It was so good to meet up with Maryann and her husband Richard again.
